About Me
An ever evolving spiritual being, that enjoys art and yoga.
Surrounded by art and the craving to constantly create, Twylah Ekko pursued an art degree at Chowan University in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. It was through this in-depth study of art history, that she eventually found a fascinating world of many religions and philosophies. Drawn to the connection of mind, body, and spirit, she was led to the path of yoga. Twylah considers movement as a metaphor for the ever-seeking stillness we are looking to cultivate in our lives. Her studies examine this journey and the connections we create in our daily interactions. In this way, Twylah’s sequences are created in order to reveal an inseparable relationship between meditation and motion. Her classes are characterized by themes which explore a balanced blend of Yang and Yin movements with a constant focus on mindfulness. |
Twylah completed her 200 Hour Teacher Training at Om On Yoga with J. Miles and Kelly Kostecki in the Richmond, Virginia, in 2013, as well as a 50 hour Yin Teacher Training with Biff Mithofer. She continues to study with her teachers and maintains a dedicated asana and meditation practice. While away from her mat Twylah finds herself deeply immersed in the Meditative art of Zentangle®, in which she also received her teaching certification in 2012. When not in Richmond, she can also be found gallivanting around the country, exploring Music and Art festivals, and sharing all of these wonderful fascinations with an endearing husband, John.
